Tried and Tested: Chalking up my Hair

Halloween is coming up, and because I am too lazy to think of a full costume (or full face of makeup), I'm hoping that I can get away with revved up eye makeup and some coloured hair.

I've never dyed or highlighted my hair, and the idea of using chalk to temporarily change my hair colour is very tempting.

Steps - but this is so simple I just look stupid typing this out
1. Wet hair
2. Rub chalk of choice (I'm using a magenta shade) onto strands.
3. Dry.
Note: try to do this on a washable surface or line with paper, because it will definitely get very messy. See:

And voila! Apologies for the tiny demonstration... it's late at night and I have work tomorrow. Doubtful that my colleagues would understand.
Here's a zoom in! Pretty good pigmentation right? Considering that I have almost-black hair

What a cost-efficient and quick way to change up and make your outfit more interesting. Best of all: it washes out with water.
One magenta-splattered sink and 5 minutes later, my hair is normal again.
