Etude House Collagen Eye Patch

A long day of work makes for tired eyes, even if I wear glasses. And because I frequently choose to torture my eyes with contact lenses instead (my vanity knows no bounds), not only am I plagued with dry eyes, but also dark circles.

Thank goodness I am still young enough to have minimal eye bags and wrinkles, but at the rate I'm going, my luck may run out soon.
I did not buy this because of the adorable girl... or did I?

Enter: Etude House Collagen Eye Patch

Formulated with collagen to revitalize and improve appearance around eyes.
Active Ingredient: Collagen 1%, Vitamin A & E and Green Tea Extracts
I know the term "improve appearance around eyes" is so cliche and pretty much a given, but somehow this phrase gets me every time, probably because I subscribe to the belief that I can always improve my appearance.

These eye patches are dripping in the collagen/vitamin concoction! In fact, I spilt it all over my desk when I opened the package. And because the patches are thin cloth cut-outs, I had trouble separating the patches from the surrounding plastic. I had plastic on my eye for 10 minutes and didn't even realize I was doing it wrong. Oops.

I left them on until the patches dried up and..... hm, no visible results. I used them again about once or twice a week but couldn't see anything different about my eye area. They felt pretty comfortable and soothing (but I suspect that if I soaked tissue in cool water and stuck them on my eyes, it would've felt the same).

Overall: 3/ 5
Repurchase? No, even though they felt pretty cool on my eyes. Did not "improve appearance around eyes" at all, though.

My wise friend once told me she had a theory that "the prettier/more adorable the packaging, the less effective the product inside. It's like they have to make up for it with cutesy elements to draw in the consumers." The more I think about this, the more I'm convinced she's right.
